Final Circuit and Design :: Son Devre ve Tasarım

Circuit Bending from Damla Soyer on Vimeo.

Eventually, I decided to use microphone toy as my main circuit, however I used the sounds from my older circuits too, as well as some other digital sounds.

Here are my 2 final visualizations; one is only black and white and simple, the other one is more chaotic which I will probably be using that one in the performance. With the chaotic one I used blue as a seperative color to make the reaction more visible. The charm it has not only caused by the interaction, but also a unique form the sound creates, which we can describe as a digital sculpture.

Tearing out the toy and playing with the circuit itself is inspirational. Getting rid of the interface and dealing with the actual object, the circuit, is fun to work on. What we are basically doing is connecting the wires, soldering them and trying to create different sounds through the circuit board.

My experiments:
::Deneyimlediklerim:

1.

I worked on a piano first.
::İlk olarak piyano üzerinde çalıştım.

2.

Then I worked on a cell phone toy... But it didn't work...

3.

This gun was nice to work on because of it's sound. But the circuit board was too small, so I couldn't do much on it. It's broken.

4.

Didn't work.
::Çalışmadı.

5.

Got broken.
::Bozuldu.

6.

Worked on a microphone, and it worked fine at first. I even managed to work on Ableton Live... But while I was soldering the wire, unfortunately it got broken...
::Bu oyuncağımız da bir mikrofondu. En iyi ses bu oyuncakla çıktı. Devre levhası ve kablo bağlantıları çok iyiydi. Fakat, kabloları lehimlerken ufak bir sorun tüm devrenin bozulmasına sebep oldu.

7.

I also worked on kits, mini siren and organ... Mini siren is dead, but the organ survived.
::Aynı zamanda mini siren ve organ kitleriyle çalıştım. Bunlar birleştirilmemiş devre parçalarından oluşuyor. Parçaları birleştirirken mini siren bozuldu, organda sorun çıkmadı.

8.

Finally I bought another microphone toy which worked fine too. But something happened to the circuit while I was trying to make some sounds... And it's dead.
